Beginning Nos. 37, 38, 265, 322, 323, 375, 416, 417, 461, 462, 504, 505, 561, 562, 611,612, 637, 638, 680, 681, 722, 723, 780, 781, 819, 820, 870, 871, 917-918, 955, 956, 1006, 1007, 1064, 1065, 1114, 1115, 1192, 1193, 1250 and 1251. Artist: Alexander Mityanin. Design: Marina Vitkovskaya. Print process: offset. Colour: multicoloured. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforations: comb 12. Stamps size: 28x40 mm. Sheets composition: 6 (3x2) stamps. Sheets size: 110x99 mm. Print quantity: 42.000 stamps each. Printer: Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House named after A. T. Nepogodin”. Letter “H” is equal to the surface tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad. Letter “P” is equal to the air-mail tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad. |

The White Stork is a national bird of Belarus, a symbol of national purity, the sun, peace and good. Thanks to the traditional patronage of the local population, white storks are not afraid of humans. They can be seen on rooftops, pipes, towers, telegraph poles, haystacks and on platforms specifically built for them. The birds arrive from warm lands at the end of March or at the beginning of April; therefore they are associated with spring and the beginning of a new life. |
