On July 14, 2005 Belarus Post will issue a stamp from the series “National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus”.
A series continuation. Beginning nos. 491-492, 531. Designer: Mikhail Konovalov. Printing: offset. Colour: full colour (6 coloures). Paper: chalk surfaced. Perforation: comb 13½. Size of the stamp: 52x37 mm. Sheet composition: sheetlets of 8 (2x4) stamps. Size of the sheet: 138x172 mm. Print quantity: 72.000.
There are elements of protection on the stamp.

Historical reference. Mikhail Sevruk (27.02.1905, Warsaw — 14.03.1979) is a Belarussian painter and drawer. He graduated from the art faculty of the Vilnya University. Since 1939 he lived in Nesvizh town in Belarus. His early works are characterized by romanticism. His later works are notable for folk images, sculptural forms, thorough drawing. Among his art works are such thematic compositions as “Beetroot harvesting” (1936), “Harvesting” (1937), “New house” (1968), etc. M. Sevruk was a designer of the covers of poetry books of M. Tank “At stages of life” (1936) and the book of songs by G. Shirma “Our song” (1938). He is the author of the drawings “Vilnya Alma mater', etc. In 1994 in Nesvizh in the apartment where M. Sevruk lived a museum was created.
Special cancellation: a special cancellation on FDCs will be carried out at the Main Post Office of Minsk on the stamp issuing day.
