The icons depicted on the souvenir sheet are included in the exposition of the international exhibition project "Saints of the Undivided Church", consisting of 116 works painted in 2016-2017 by both outstanding masters of icon painting and young artists from 15 countries. The Venerable Hilda, Abbess of Whitby, is revered as the abbess of the people of England. She is the local saint of the Sourozh Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. Icon painter Olga Shalamova (St. Petersburg, Russia). Saint Martin of Tours is considered to be one of the patrons of France. Icon painter Alexander Chashkin (Moscow, Russia). Saint Guthlac of Croyland, the Wonderworker, is one of the most revered hermit saints of the English. He is the local saint of the Sourozh Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. Icon painter Anton Daineko (Minsk, Belarus). The depicted saints are revered by the Orthodox, Catholics and also Anglicans (saints Hilda and Guthlac). The project was prepared in cooperation with the All Saints Parish of Minsk, the Commonwealth “Artos” (Moscow) and the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus. FDC is based on the logo of the project "Saints of the Undivided Church" (author Alexey Chekal). |
