On December 7, 2017 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the souvenir sheet “Outstanding scientists of Belarus”. Design: Yelena Medved.Printing: offset.Colour: full colour with additional paint like silver.Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed.Perforation: frame 12. There are 4 stamps in the souvenir sheet.Size of the stampsin the souvenir sheet: 28x25 mm.Size of the souvenir sheet:105x72 mm.Face valueof each stamp: A.Print quantity: 15.000 souvenir sheets. The souvenir sheet was printed at the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House named after A. T. Nepogodin”. The Republic of Belarus is rightfully proud of outstanding scientists who have made a great contribution to the development of science. Their names are known not only in our country, but also abroad. Belarus is particularly proud of academicians of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS). The Academician of NAS of Belarus Vsevolod Makarovich Ignatovski (1881-1931) was a historian, public and political figure and author of more than 40 scientific and publicistic works including 8 monographs. The Academician of NAS of Belarus Nikolai Aleksandrovich Borisevich (1923-2015) was a physicist, statesman and public figure, author of more than 430 scientific works including 3 monographs, 8 inventions and 1 scientific discovery. The Academician of NAS of Belarus Vasili Feofilovich Kuprevich (1897-1969) was a botanist, statesman and public figure, author of more than 100 scientific works including 7 monographs. The Academician of NAS of Belarus Pavel Osipovich Gorin (real name Kolyada, 1900-1938) was a historian, statesman and author of more than 20 scientific works. The souvenir sheet and special postmark include the logo of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, in cooperation with which the project was prepared. Face value A is equal to the tariff of a letter up to 20 gram within Belarus. |
