135th birth anniversary of Yanka Kupala

On July 7, 2017 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the stamp “135thbirth anniversary of Yanka Kupala”. Design: Yelena Medved.Printing: offset.Colour: full colour.Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed.Perforation: comb 131/2: 13.Size of the stamp: 37x52mm.Sheet composition: 6 (3x2) stamps.Size of the sheet: 167x124 mm. While printing the stamp they used the technology of thermal stamping by metalized foil of dead golden colour.Print quantity: 48.000 stamps. The stamp was printed at the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House named after A. T. Nepogodin”. Face value N is equal to the surface tariff of a postcard abroad. Yanka Kupala (real name Ivan Dominikovich Lutsevich; born 07.07.1882 in the village of Viazynka, Molodechno district, Minsk region — died 28.06.1942) was a Belarusian poet, playwright, publicist and translator. The work of Yanka Kupala from the first to the last line belongs to Belarus and its national culture. The poet's works became a kind of a bridge that connected the Belarusian culture with the culture of the world. The poet's work has earned the world recognition: his works have been translated into almost 100 foreign languages. The poem "Who goes there?" sounds in 84 languages. The stamp is based on the portrait of Yanka Kupala painted by Mikhail Savitsky from the collection of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus. The project was prepared in cooperation with the State Literary Museum of Yanka Kupala, which is depicted on the First Day Cover. |
