Decorative applied art. Embroidery

On February 12, 2013 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue 3 stamps “Embroidery” from the series “Decorative applied art”. 
Artist: Tamara Stasevich. Designer: Yauheniya Biadonik. Printing: offset. Colour: multicoloured. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb 141/4: 14. Size of the stamps: 28x30 mm. Sheets composition: 8 stamps and 1 coupon. Size of the sheets: 120x126 mm. Print quantity: 48.000 stamps each. 
The stamps were printed at the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House named after A. T. Nepogodin”. 
The stamps were prepared in collaboration with the State Scientific Institution “The Centre for Belarusian culture, language and literature research of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus”.

Letter “H” is equal to the surface tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad.
 
Embroidery is the art or handicraft of decorating fabric or other materials with needle and thread or yarn.
The basic techniques or stitches of hand embroidery are as follows: cross stitch, satin stitch, chain stitch, buttonhole or blanket stitch, running stitch, etc.
Geometric design is made by counting the threads of fabric. Pictorial design is made by free embroidery according to the drawn pattern.

A special cancellation on FDC will be carried out at the Main Post Office of Minsk on the stamps issuing day.
