On January 31, 2013 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue 2 stamps from the series “The Red Book of the Republic of Belarus”.
Artist: Alexander Mityanin. Designer: Yauheniya Biadonik. Printing: offset. Colour: multicoloured. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb No.944 — 141/4: 14, No.945 — 14: 141/4. Size of the stamps: No.944 — 28x40 mm, No.945 — 40x28 mm. Sheet composition: 16 (4x4) stamps. Size of the sheets: No.944 — 132x186 mm, No.945 — 186x132 mm. Print quantity: 48.000 stamps each.
The stamps were printed at the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House named after A. T.  Nepogodin”.
The design is prepared within the project UNDP/GEF “Mainstreaming Biodiversity Conservation into Territorial Planning Policies and Practices in Belarus” with support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.

Letter “H” is equal to the surface tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad.
Moonwort is a fern. It is small with fleshy roots and reproduces by spores shed into the air. It is an endangered species. In 1993 it is included into the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus.

Letter “P” is equal to the air-mail tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad.
European Roller is a bird resembling a pigeon in size and build. It has a broad bill and bright appearance in blue, brown and black colours. In 1993 it is included into the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus.
 
A souvenir sheet with stamps No. 934 and 935 is also issued. Size of the souvenir sheet: 94x78 mm. Print quantity: 10.000.

Special postmark and FDC designed by A.Mityanin.
A special cancellation on FDC will be carried out at the Main Post Office of Minsk on the stamps and souvenir sheet issuing day.
