On April 62, 2011 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the stamp “25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster”.
Designer: Yevgeni Simonenko. Printing: offset. Colour: full colour. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb 131/2: 133/4. Size of the stamp: 37x26 mm. Sheet composition: 6 (2x3) stamps. Size of the sheet: 100x100 mm. Print quantity: 48.000 stamps.
Letter “H” is equal to the surface tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad.

Historical reference: The Chernobyl accident occurred on April 26, 1986 was the most severe technological disaster for Belarus by its consequences. Experts estimated that the most radioactive precipitation had fallen in Belarus. As a result 23 percent of our territory inhabited by about a quarter of the population was exposed to radioactive contamination. For comparison: in Russia — 1,5%, in Ukraine — 7%.
25 years have passed since the Chernobyl disaster. During these years Belarus has accumulated tremendous scientific, practical, managerial and professional experience. The valuable information collected by our state can be used by the whole mankind.
A special cancellation on FDC will be carried out at the Main Post Office of Minsk on the stamp issuing day.
