On August 10, 2010 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the set of 4 stamps dragonfly Green snaketail (Ophiogomphus cecilia).
Painter: Alexander Mityanin. Designer: Yauheniya Biadonik. Printing: offset. Colour: multicoloured. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb 131/2: 133/4. Size of the stamps: 37x26 mm. Sheet composition: 8 (2x4) stamps. Size of the sheets: 99x125,5 mm. Print quantity: 56.000 stamps each.
There are elements of protection on the stamps.
Historical reference: The Green snaketail (Ophiogomphus cecilia) is a dragonfly listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus.
Pollution of reservoirs is the main threat of the reduction of this dragonfly population. Only single green snaketails are found on the territory of Belarus.
The Green snaketail (Ophiogomphus cecilia) is also listed in the Red Book of Lithuania and it is protected in Europe.

The stamps are issued under the aegis of the nature protection organization World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and bear the WWF logo.
 
A sheetlet is also issued. Sheetlet composition: 8 (2 sets) stamps. Size of the sheetlet: 99x125,5 mm. Print quantity: 7.000 sheetlets.
Special cancellation on FDC will be carried out at the Main Post Office of Minsk on the stamps issuing day.
 
Colour of the postmark — black.
Special postmark and FDC painted by A.Mityanin, designed by Ya.Biadonik.
Maximum cards will be issued too.
