100th Birth Anniversary of G. Bogomolov

On February 18, 2005 Belarus Post will issue the stamp dedicated to the centenary birth anniversary of Gerasim Bogomolov.
Designer: Nikolai Ryzhi. Printing: offset. Colour: full colour. Paper: chalk surfaced. Perforation: comb 13¾: 13½. Size of the stamp: 26x37 mm. Sheet composition: 20 (4x5) stamps. Print quantity: 90.000.
There are elements of protection on the stamp.
Historical reference. Bogomolov Gerasim Vasilievich (17.03.1905 — 08.04.1981) was born in the village of Sliznevo, Smolensk region, Russia. He began his work in Belarus in 1928, was engaged in water-supply of Minsk, worked in the Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Bogomolov was the honorary president of the International Association of Hydrologic Sciences, the Associate Member of geological societies of Belgium and France, consultant at the FAO, the State Prizes laureate and the bearer of many decorations. He was the Deputy Minister of Geology of the USSR, worked as the director of the Scientific research Institute of Hydrogeology of the Soviet Union. Bogomolov was also the founder and the head of the first Ecological Council in the USSR.
