The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 2019 as the International Year of Indigenous Languages.
 
This event provides an opportunity to raise global public awareness of the disappearance of indigenous languages and the need to preserve, revitalize and promote their use.
 
The stamp bears the official logo of the International Year of Indigenous Languages in English.
 
Colour of the postmark — black.

Special postmark and FDC designed by Ya.Biadonik.
A special cancellation on FDC will be carried out at the post office No.1 of Minsk (shop “Philately”, 16 Moskovskaya street) on the stamp issuing day.
