XXIII Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang

On February 9, 2018 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the stamp “XXIII Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang”.
 
Design: Yelena Medved. Print process: offset. Colour : multicoloured. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforations: comb 13. Stamp size: 45x45x45 mm. Sheet composition: 6 stamps. Sheet size: hexagon, each side 55,5 mm. Print quantity: 72.000 stamps.
 
Printer: Republican Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House named after A. T.  Nepogodin”.
 
Letter “P” is equal to the air-mail tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad.

XXIII Olympic Winter Games
in Pyeongchang

The XXIII Olympic Winter Games will be held from 9 to 25 February 2018 in Pyeongchang (the Republic of Korea).
 
Pyeongchang was announced the host city of the XXIII Winter Olympics on July 6, 2011 at the 123rd IOC Session in Durban (South Africa).
2 943 athletes from 92 countries are expected to attract the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, which is the largest number of athletes in the history of the Winter Olympic Games.
 
Four new disciplines in existing sports were introduced to the Winter Olympic program in Pyeongchang, including big air snowboarding, mass start speed skating, mixed team alpine skiing and mixed doubles curling.
 
 
Colour of the postmark — black.
 
Special postmark and FDC designed by Ye.Medved.
A special cancellation on FDC will be carried out at the post office No.1 of Minsk (shop “Philately”,16 Moskovskaya street) on the stamp issuing day.
