25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Latvia

On July 19, 2017 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the postage stamp “25^th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Latvia”.

 

Design: Tatyana Kuznetsova. Photo: Boris Kolesnikov and Sergey Plytkevich. Printing: offset. Colour: full colour. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb 12. Size of the stamp: 40x28 mm. Sheet composition: 6 (2x3) stamps & 2 coupons. Size of the sheet: 167x97 mm. While printing the stamp and coupon they used the technology of thermal stamping by metalized foil of blue colour. Print quantity: 60.000 stamps.

 

The stamp was printed at the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House named after A. T.  Nepogodin”.

 

Face value “H” is equal to the surface tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad.

 

On December 16, 1991 the Declaration on the Principles of Good-Neighborly Relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Latvia was signed. The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on April 7, 1992.

 

For a quarter of a century of the Belarusian-Latvian relations a legal basis has been created, regional cooperation has been expanded, and contacts have been established at the intergovernmental and inter-parliamentary levels. Interagency contacts are intensively developing between the ministries of economy, transport, communications, agriculture, environmental protection, health, culture, internal affairs and border and customs services. The cooperation between the national banks of Belarus and Latvia has been established and a memorandum of cooperation has been signed.

 

The project was prepared in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Latvia.
