| On June 30, 2017 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue 2 stamps “Horses” of the series “Joint issue of Belarus and Kyrgyzstan”. Design: Yelena Medved. Photo by Alina Khomich (stamp No.1205), Vladimir Voronin (stamp No.1206) and Sergey Plytkevich (sheet borders). Printing: offset. Colour: full colour. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb 12: 121/2. Size of the stamps: 40x28 mm. Face value of each stamp: H. Sheet composition: 6 (3x2) stamps in joint sheet of 3 sets. Size of the sheet: 142x124 mm. Print quantity: 60.000 stamps each. The stamps were printed at the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House named after A. T. Nepogodin”. Face value H is equal to the surface tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad. |

| There is a large number of breeds of horses in the world, each of which has its own destination. The Stamp No. 1205 depicts the Trakehner horse originated in East Prussia. Breeding scientists created a strong and hardy breed for the needs of cavalry. Today it is the only half-breed horse which is reared in purity. The Stamp No. 1206 depicts the New Kirgiz horse, which originated from the old Kirgiz breed. It has retained all its best qualities (stamina, unpretentiousness) and acquired additional advantages: increase in height and weight, as well as improved speed characteristics in sport races. The project was prepared in cooperation with the Republican Centre of Olympic Training of Equestrian Sports and Horse Breeding. |
