125 years since the commissioning of Minsk horse railway

| On May 10, 2017 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue 4 postage stamps of the series “125 years since the commissioning of Minsk horse railway”. Design: Yauheniya Biadonik. Printing: offset. Colour: full colour. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb 12. Size of the stamps: 40x28 mm. Sheets composition: 6 (2x3) stamps. Size of the sheets: 115x120 mm. Print quantity: 60.000 stamps each. The stamps were printed at the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House named after A. T. Nepogodin”. Face value A is equal to the tariff of a letter up to 20 gram within Belarus. Face value N is equal to the surface tariff of a postcard abroad. Face value M is equal to the air-mail tariff of a postcard abroad. Face value H is equal to the surface tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad. |

| On May 10, 1892 the horse railway was put into commission in Minsk. It was operated almost 40 years. On the basis of a horse tram a more modern transport — electric tram was created. On 3 March a permanent exposition "Minsk Horse Railway" was opened in the Museum of History of Minsk. It presents unique exhibits reflecting the formation and development of public transport of the city. The project was prepared on materials from the collection of the Museum of History of Minsk. |
