| On August 12, 2016 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the souvenir sheet “Beekeeping in Belarus”. Artist: Alexander Mityanin. Design: Marina Vitkovskaya. Printing: offset. Colour: multicoloured. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: 131/4. There are 2 stamps in the souvenir sheet. Size of the stamps: 45x45 mm. Face value of each stamp: P. Size of the souvenir sheet: hexagon with each side 53 mm. Print quantity: 15.000 souvenir sheets. The souvenir sheet was printed at the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House named after A. T. Nepogodin”. Face value “P” is equal to the air-mail tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad. |

| Beekeeping is one of the oldest human activities. In the history of all ancient civilizations there are indications of bees and their products such as honey and wax. Cultural beekeeping in Belarus started from the 19th century when Gory-Goretski agricultural institute that also had a beekeeping course was opened in Mogilev province. Also an educational and demonstrative apiary was created in the institute. Today the benefits of honey, bee venom, royal jelly and pollen for the human body have long been proved. Propolis and wax have great importance for various branches of industry. |
