Building of the CIS Executive Committee

| On February 18, 2009 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue a stamp “Building of the CIS Executive Committee” prepared by the Publishing Centre “Marka” of the EUR “Belpochta”. Designers: Maria Plakhotnyuk & Ivan Lukin. Printing: offset. Colour: full colour. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb 14: 14¼. Size of the stamp: 40х28 mm. Sheet composition: 9 (3х3) stamps. Size of the sheet: 136х102 mm. Print quantity: 45.000 stamps. There are elements of protection on the stamp. Historical reference. In 1951 the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus decided to erect the building for Minsk city and region Party Committees. The working out of the project and documentation was charged to the workroom of the well-known Belarusian architect G. Zaborski. Project designers were A. Voinov and L. Usova. The project was approved in December 1952. At the end of 1953 the building was erectedandit answeredthe purpose till theendof 1991. Now it is the location of the CIS Executive Committee. |
