On January 12, 2009 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue a stamp “ Vladimir Muliavin — founder and art director of Belarusian folk rock group “Pesnyary” prepared by the Publishing Centre “Marka” of the EUR “Belpochta”.
Designer: Artiom Rybchinski. Printing: offset. Colour: full colour. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb 13½: 13¾. Size of the stamp: 37x26 mm. Sheet composition: 3 stamps + 3 coupons. Size of the sheet: 92x97 mm. Print quantity: 53.000 stamps.
There are elements of protection on the stamp.
Historical reference. Vladimir Muliavin (12.01.1941, Sverdlovsk — 26.01.2003,Moscow) — wasaprominent musician and composer, People's Artist of the USSR and Belarus, honoured art worker of Poland, founder and art director of Belarusian folk rock group “Pesnyary”. He was born in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg, Russia). Vladimir started playing the guitar at theageof 12.
The unique talent of Vladimir Muliavin realized in the work of the group“Pesnyary” opened anewepoch in Belarusian popart. In his beautiful songs the musicalandpoetic heritage of Belarus people acquiredthemodernsounding.
The group “Pesnyary” was a pioneer of folk rock on Belarus stage and for a long time it was the most popular group of our country. “Pesnyary” recorded many interpretations of folk songs which are on modern lines nowadays. They alsomadesomelargemusical performances in which they successfully united folk artandmodernsounding.
Vladimir Muliavin died on January 26, 2003 after the automobile accident. He is buried at the East cemetery in Minsk.
